Premier League: Tottenham thrash Everton, Chelsea held by Leicester

Tottenham have gone level on points with fourth-placed Liverpool after a 4-0 win over Everton in the Premier League.

Heung-min Son opened the scoring in the first half when he turned in Serge Aurier’s cross before Harry Kane added to his season tally with two second-half goals.

First, the striker had an easy finish after Son’s through-ball before giving his team a three-goal lead on the hour mark.

Christian Eriksen completed the scoring nine minutes from time when he hit the back of the net from the edge of the penalty area.

West Ham United’s resurgence under David Moyes continued with a 4-1 win over Huddersfield Town.

Mark Noble gave West Ham the lead before Joe Lolley levelled five minutes before halftime.

Marko Arnautovic’s 46th-minute goal saw West Ham regain the lead before Manuel Lanzini netted twice in the space of five minutes, both into the left side of the net, to secure the points for the Hammers.

Chelsea drew 0-0 at home to Leicester City despite the Foxes seeing out the match with 10 men.

Wilfred Ndidi could have given Leicester the lead early on but Thibaut Courtois pulled off a fantastic save. Cesc Fabregas had an equally good chance to put the reigning champions ahead but was stopped by Kasper Schmeichel.

Ben Chilwell was sent off with 22 minutes remaining after picking up a yellow card but Chelsea were unable to capitalise as Tiemoue Bakayoko’s shot went narrowly over the bar late on.

Second-bottom West Bromwich Albion earned a crucial three points with a 2-0 win against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Two set pieces were the key for West Brom with Jonny Evans opening the scoring in the fourth minute with his head.

His central defensive partner Craig Dawson doubled the lead in the second half when he headed into the top right corner of the net.

Crystal Palace moved up to 12th in the table with a 1-0 win against Burnley.

Bakary Sako scored the only goal of the game from inside the area in the 21st minute.

Steven Defour, Ashley Barnes and Jack Cork all had good chances to level for Burnley, who stay in seventh.

Watford needed to come from two goals down to rescue a point at home to Southampton.

James Ward-Prowse scored twice in the first half to send the Saints into the lead but Andre Gray pulled a goal back on the hour mark.

It was left to Abdoulaye Doucoure, who appeared to direct the ball in with his hand in the 90th minute to end Watford’s two-game losing streak.

Swansea City now sit four points from safety at the foot of the table after a 1-1 draw at Newcastle United.

Jordan Ayew opened the scoring after an hour when he finished from long range but Swansea could only hold the lead for eight minutes before Joselu finished into the bottom corner.

Sung-Yong Ki could have won the game for Swansea in the dying stages but his shot was kept out by Karl Darlow.

On Sunday, Arsenal travel to relegation-threatened Bournemouth before Liverpool host Manchester City.

Manchester United meet Stoke on Monday evening.
