Novak Djokovic needed less than two hours to take out 21st seed David Goffin in the Wimbledon quarter-final.

The 21st seed was only ever in the match in the first half of the opening set as he fell 6-4 6-0 6-2 to the world number one.

It was Goffin who took the first break, though, to lead 4-3 in the first, but Djokovic replied immediately and won three successive games to take the lead.

The second set was over as soon as it began. Djokovic broke with ease to take a 2-0 lead and that stretched to 4-0 with a break to love.

Goffin did put up a fight in the sixth game though by saving two set points but Djokovic made no mistake with the third to put himself within one set of victory.

At least Goffin managed two games in the third set. A hold to love was a rare highlight for the Belgian, who failed to convert to break points when 3-1 down. One final break, Djokovic’s seventh of the match, completed the rout and confirmed the Serbian’s place in the Wimbledon semi-finals.
