Nottinghamshire Outlaws win T20 Blast after victory over Birmingham Bears

Nottinghamshire Outlaws have won the T20 Blast after a 22-run victory over Birmingham Bears at Edgbaston.

Harry Gurney took four wickets from his four overs to limit Birmingham to 168-8.

Birmingham won the toss and put Notts into bat, and that decision looked to have paid off early on at 30-3.

The Birmingham bowling attack would only take one more wicket though, that of Brendan Taylor for 65 off 49 balls.

Samit Patel hit 64 not out off 42 balls and Dan Christian came in near the end to thump 24 runs off just eight balls.

It was the Gurney show during Birmingham’s innings. He took out Dominic Sibley for two early one before bowling Colin de Grandhomme for 27.

Sam Hain was Birmingham’s top scorer, hitting 72 off 44 balls, but he eventually hit a Gurney ball into the hands of Christian.

The final major wicket was also taken by Gurney to bring down Aaron Thomason and finish with figures of 4-17.
