Johanna Konta has exited the Miami Open after a straight-sets defeat to Petra Kvitova in the third round.

The British number one simply did not show anything close to her best as she fell 6-1 6-2 to the ninth seed.

Kvitova conceded just two points and broke to love on the way to a 3-0 lead in the opener before Konta held serve.

The world number 18 was broken again though for 5-1 as Kvitova eased to a one-set lead.

It was more of the same in the second set when Kvitova broke immediately.

Konta did manage to hold serve twice in a row this time though, but Kvitova won three games on the bounce to complete the victory.
