Livingston left it late to beat Dundee United 3-2 in the first leg of the Scottish Premiership play-off semi-final.

The Championship runners-up were losing with 13 minutes left before goals from Josh Mullin and Scott Pittman turned the match around.

Raffaelle de Vita had given Livi the lead in the second minute but Thomas Mikkelsen levelled just a minute later.

Celtic loanee Anthony Ralston gave United the lead in the 28th minute, and they thought they would take that lead into the second leg until those Mullin and Pittman strikes.

Willo Flood will miss the second leg after being sent off for two bookable offences three minutes from time.

The teams meet again in the second leg at Almondvale on Friday for a chance to play the second-bottom team in the Scottish Premiership.
