Great Britain’s Kyle Edmund has progressed to the quarter-finals of the Brisbane International after beating Hyeon Chung 7-6 (7-3) 5-7 6-4.

The South Korean saved three break points at 3-2 to force the first-set tie-break but lost six points in a row as Edmund took the lead.

Edmund looked to be heading towards victory in straight sets when he broke Chung early in the second, but the world number 58 struck back to level before breaking again to make it 5-7.

Despite seeing two match points saved on the final Chung service game, Edmund held serve throughout the decider to claim victory.

The world number 50 will play first seed Grigor Dimitrov or Australian John Millman in the quarter-final.
