Kent ease into One-Day Cup semi-final after Heino Kuhn’s unbeaten 124
Kent have beaten reigning champions Nottinghamshire to qualify for the One-Day Cup quarter-finals.
Heino Kuhn’s unbeaten 124 helped Kent chase down a target of 256 with 14.1 overs to spare.
Notts started their innings horribly and were dominated by Harry Podmore’s bowling (4-57). They fell to 23-4 when Riki Wessels was caught by Daniel Bell-Drummond for 12.
The Notts lower order hauled them towards a better score though, with captain Steven Mullaney’s 90 and Luke Fletcher’s 53 helping them towards a total of 255-8 at the end of the innings.
Kent openers Bell-Drummond and Kuhn stayed for 28.3 overs until Bell-Drummond was stumped by Tom Moores for 79.
Kuhn’s superb innings continued and Joe Denly came in with an unbeaten 52 to finish the innings style with a six.
Kent will play North Group winners Worcestershire on Sunday.
