World number three Karolina Pliskova has been knocked out by Czech Fed Cup teammate Karolina Muchova in the Wimbledon fourth round after a three hour and 18 minute epic.

It was Muchova who eventually came through 13-11 in the deciding set after Pliskova had earlier been serving for the match.

Pliskova took the opening set 6-4 after the pair exchanged breaks early on.

Muchova came back in the second set though and broke to take a 5-3 lead. Pliskova immediately broke back though but faltered when serving to force a tie-break and Muchova levelled.

Pliskova served for the match twice in the decider. At 5-4, Muchova failed with three break points but eventually broke before saving a break point in the next game to take the score to 6-6.

Muchova was up against it again at 8-8 but saved two break points.

The score moved along to 10-10 before Pliskova broke to take the lead. This was Pliskova’s chance to finally end the match, but a break to love saw Muchova once again coming from behind to level.

The world number 68 then held before taking a 0-40 lead. The first two match points were saved but it was third time lucky for Muchova who earned the biggest win of her career so far.
