Johanna Konta has lost the Nature Valley Open final to world number 17 Ashleigh Barty in Nottingham.

The British number one had not conceded a set on the way to the final but that changed when Barty took the opener on the way to a 6-3 3-6 6-4 win.

Barty held serve on her way to taking the lead and broke in the sixth game.

Konta hit back in the second though and, after saving four break points, took a 5-3 lead before serving out the set.

The third set went down to the wire. Barty looked to be in control when she took a 4-1 lead but Konta broke back on the way to 4-4.

Serving to stay in the match, Konta went 0-40 down and Barty won match point at the second attempt.

In the doubles final, Heather Watson and Mihaela Buzarnescu lost 3-6 6-7 (5-7) to Alicja Rosolska and Abigail Spears.
