Jamie Murray and Bethanie Mattek-Sands have been knocked out of the Wimbledon mixed doubles by third seeds Mate Pavic and Gabriela Dabrowski.

The pair had taken the match to a deciding set before play was delayed due to bad light yesterday evening, but Pavic and Dabrowski took control to win 6-4 3-6 6-3.

Pavic and Dabrowski took the opening set after breaking in the seventh game but Murray and Mattek-Sands struck back in the second.

They broke to lead 3-1 but failed to convert two chances at set point at 5-2 before serving out the set.

Pavic and Dabrowski raced into a 4-1 lead in the decider, only for Murray and Mattek-Sands to respond.

But a break in the next game took the score to 5-3 and Murray and Mattek-Sands were unable to break back.
