India’s Cricket World Cup semi-final against New Zealand has been delayed due to rain at Old Trafford.

The teams will resume on Wednesday morning with New Zealand 211-5 after 46.1 overs. New Zealand will complete their innings before India will, weather permitting, play a full 50-over innings.

India started the day perfectly when Martin Guptill was caught by Virat Kohli for 1. Henry Nicholls then fell to Ravindra Jadeja for 28.

Kane Williamson’s partnership with Ross Taylor saw New Zealand’s innings improve until Williamson was caught by Jadeja off Yuzvendra Chahal for 67, the same score that Taylor was on when play was stopped.

James Neesham and Colin de Grandhomme failed to make an impact, scoring 12 and 16 respectively and Tom Latham added three before the covers came on.

Play will resume in the morning with Taylor and Latham at the crease.
