Formula 1 planning Miami Grand Prix
Formula 1 is planning to hold a Grand Prix in Miami next season.
The Miami City Commission are due to vote on whether to host a Grand Prix, with a date pencilled in for October 2019.
“We appreciate the community’s interest in hosting a Formula 1 race and look forward to working with local officials and stakeholders to bring this vision to life,” Sean Bratches, F1 managing director commercial operations said.
“Miami’s status as one of the world’s most iconic and glamorous cities, combined with its robust tourism infrastructure, makes Miami the perfect destination for Formula 1 and its fans.”
If the Grand Prix goes ahead it will be the second in the USA, joining the US Grand Prix in Austin, Texas on the calendar.
