Everton complete £30m Michael Keane signing

Everton have signed defender Michael Keane from Burnley for a fee which could rise to £30m.

The 25-year-old has agreed a five-year contract, with the deal taking Everton’s total spending this summer to over £90m.

“Michael was high among the players we wanted to bring to Everton this summer and I’m delighted he is here at the club,” Everton manager Ronald Koeman told reporters.

“We knew there would be competition from other clubs but Michael believes in the ambition of Everton and what we want to do and this is the perfect moment for him to come.”

Keane leaves Burnley after three seasons, making 108 appearances and scoring seven goals.

“I watched a lot of Everton last season and I believe I really suit how the team likes to play. I feel like this is a great place to come and continue my development as a player,” Keane said.

The former Manchester United youth player made his England debut against Germany in March.
