Elina Svitolina through after straight-sets win over Petra Martic

Elina Svitolina has qualified for the Wimbledon quarter-final after a 6-4 6-2 win over Petra Martic.

The world number eight was tested in the opening set. The pair shared breaks midway through, but both players saved three break points to hold in two lengthy games.

Svitolina led for the first time in the set at 5-4 before serving to love to take the opener in 66 minutes.

Svitolina eventually strolled to victory in the second set, winning the first four games and holding serve throughout to come through 6-2.

The Ukrainian will play Karolina Pliskova or Karolina Muchova in the last eight.
