Eddie Nketiah strike gives Arsenal win over Bayern Munich

Arsenal have beaten Bayern Munich in their opening game of the International Champions Cup.

A Louis Poznanski own goal was cancelled out by Robert Lewandowski before Eddie Nketiah struck in the 88th minute to give the Gunners a 2-1 win.

Both managers named a strong starting 11, with younger players coming on in the second half.

Thomas Muller had the best chance for Bayern in the opening 45 minutes but his shot was well saved by Bernd Leno.

Mesut Ozil then called Manuel Neuer into action but the Bayern keeper denied his countryman.

Bayern fielded a completely new team in the second half and the younger players were punished four minutes after the restart. Poznanski failed to deal with a cross and diverted the ball into his own net.

Lewandowski levelled the score, though, when he headed in, and Serge Gnabry could have put Bayern ahead but substitute keeper Damian Martinez kept his shot out.

It was left late for Nketiah to deliver the win. He raced onto a through ball before sliding it past Sven Ulreich.
