Cameron Norrie knocked out at Queens by Stan Wawrinka
British number two Cameron Norrie has lost to former world number three Stan Wawrinka in the first round of the Fever-Tree Championships at Queens.
The Swiss prevailed 6-2 6-3 to set up a match against Britain’s Jay Clarke or USA’s Sam Querrey in the second round.
Wawrinka, who has dropped to 261st in the world after long-term injury, needed just 58 minutes to defeat the world number 80.
Norrie has had a superb first season in professional tennis but was nowhere near his best as Wawrinka broke twice on the way to a one-set lead.
Wawrinka held serve again throughout the second set and broke in game four before serving out the match with a love game.
