Bath finish Champions Cup campaign with win over Benetton

Bath have finished their European Rugby Champions Cup campaign with a 47-28 win over Italian team Benetton.

The Aviva Premiership missed out on a quarter-final place by just one point as Toulon picked up a losing bonus-point against Scarlets

Benetton, who have now lost all their European games this season, took the lead through Luca Sperandio before Bath scored five tries in 25 minutes.

Tom Dunn, Matt Banahan, Anthony Watson and Jonathan Joseph scored before half time with a penalty try extending Bath’s lead.

Bath were outscored in the second half with tries from Sebastian Negri, Tommaso Benvenuti and Monty Ioane tightening the deficit.

Zach Mercer and Luke Charteris crossed for Bath to seal the victory.
