Ashleigh Barty beats Karolina Pliskova to win first Wimbledon title

Ashleigh Barty has won her first Wimbledon title after a 6-3 6-7 6-3 win ofer Karolina Pliskova.

The world number one has added to her 2019 French Open final in front of a capacity crowd at Centre Court.

Barty started the match on fire, winning the first four games on the way to the first set.

Pliskova hit back in the second set though, and needed to come back from 3-1 down to force a tie-break. The world number 13 won five points in a row in the breaker to force a deciding set.

An early break to go 2-0 up in the third set was enough for Barty, who held out on the way to victory.

Barty dropped just two sets throughout the entire tournament on the way to her second Grand Slam title.
