Premier League: Swansea, Newcastle earn first wins

Swansea City and Newcastle United have earned their first wins of the Premier League campaign, beating Crystal Palace and West Ham United respectively.

Tammy Abraham opened the scoring for Swansea in the 44th minute when he volleyed into the bottom left corner and Andre Ayew completed the scoring in the 48th minute.

At St James Park, Joselu scored his first goal for Newcastle in the 36th minute and Ciaran Clark headed in in the 74th minute. Aleksander Mitrovic rounded Joe Hart to finish late on and secure a 3-0 victory.

Watford drew to Brighton & Hove Albion 0-0 despite playing for 64 minutes with 10 men after Miguel Britos was sent off for a bad challenge on Anthony Knockaert.

Huddersfield Town and Southampton also played out a goalless draw.

In the lunchtime kickoff, Raheem Sterling scored a 96th-minute winner as Manchester City defeated Bournemouth 2-1. Charlie Daniels had previously scored a screamer from the left before Gabriel Jesus levelled the score.

Manchester United play Leicester City in the evening kick off.
