Barrie McKay leads Nottingham Forest to victory over Millwall

Barrie McKay’s excellent debut goal gave Nottingham Forest three points after a 1-0 win over Championship newcomers Millwall.

The forward, who signed from Rangers this summer, curled a shot in from long range on the verge of half time.

Millwall dominated the first half at the City Ground with Steve Morison, Aiden O’Brien and Lee Gregory all missing chances.

Morison hit the bar before O’Brien and Gregory shots were kept out by Forest goalkeeper Jordan Smith.

McKay then found the net and Forest somehow held on for victory.

The Lions onslaught continued in the second half. Morison had a goal disallowed for offside and Jed Wallace could not get past Smith either.

Fred Onyedinma missed from close range and Morison’s header was saved deep into injury time.
