Manchester City hold off Bristol City to reach Carabao Cup final

Manchester City have beaten Bristol City 5-3 on aggregate to qualify for the Carabao Cup final.

The Premier League leaders won 3-2 on the night, after defeating the Championship side 2-1 in the first leg two weeks ago.

Goals from Leroy Sane and Sergio Aguero looked to have put the tie beyond doubt but Bristol City came back through Marlon Pack and Aden Flint.

Kevin de Bruyne struck in the 96th minute though to secure the victory for Manchester City.

Manchester City dominated the first half and took the lead when Sane’s shot was deflected in from Bernardo Silva’s assist.

The lead was doubled at the start of the second half when Aguero finished off a swift counterattack.

Bristol City came back into the match in the 64th minute when Pack headed in before Flint’s stoppage-time goal set up a grandstand finish.

De Bruyne’s finish with the last kick of the game gave Manchester City victory on the night, as well as their place in the final.
