England’s Chris Paisley takes maiden European Tour victory

Chris Paisley has won the South African Open to claim his first European Tour tournament win.

The Englishman shot a bogey-free final round of 66 at Glendower Golf Club in Johannesburg to finish 21 under for the tournament.

South African Branden Grace shot 68 on his final round to finish three shots behind the world number 289.

Paisley struck just three bogies throughout the whole tournament and pockets £142,000 in prize money.

Grace’s chances effectively ended when he struck water on the 12th, after already double-bogeying the sixth hole.

England’s Charlie Evans finished 11th on -12, with Chris Ford a shot back tied for 15th.

David Drysdale finished as the highest-placed Scot in the field, tied for 47th on -4.
