Cardiff Blues continue fine form with win over Lyon
Cardiff Blues earned their fifth win of the European Rugby Challenge Cup group stage, beating Lyon 21-18.
The Welsh side had already won Group 2 with a game to spare and stretched their lead over runners-up Sale Sharks with the victory.
Lyon went 12 points up early on through tries from Dylan Cretin and Pierre-Louis Barassi before Lloyd Williams got Cardiff’s scoreboard ticking.
A penalty try early in the second half put Cardiff ahead but the lead changed hands again with two Lionel Beauxis penalties.
A 66th-minute try from substitute Tom Williams secured the points for Cardiff.
